Paris, Dec 03: Princess Caroline of Monaco has been named goodwill ambassador by the United Nations' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura said last night in Paris that the 46-year-old Princess would work for the improvement of women's educational opportunities. Princess Caroline attended a ceremony bestowing the ambassadorship with her husband, Prince Ernst August of Hannover. She said it would be a ''fascinating challenge'' to work to eradicate illiteracy, which affects 860 million people, three quarters women. Bureau Report
