Kolkata, June 20: An aged businessman, carrying a loaded revolver whose licence had expired, was arrested at the NSC Bose International Airport here when he was on his way to board a Sahara Airlines flight to Delhi, airport sources said today. The revolver, tucked in a bag, was detected by the CISF personnel during frisking of the passenger yesterday before be boarded the private airliner, the sources said.

He was later released on bail by a local court after being produced before it by the airport police which had taken custody of him from the CISF, they added.

A licenced revolver when being taken aboard has to be deposited in the custody of the aircraft captain to be returned at the conclusion of the journey, airport sources said, adding that in this particular case neither the weapon had a valid licence nor was it declared.
