New Delhi, Feb 14: Giving a new dimension to their bilateral ties, India and Thailand today agreed to move towards a free trade arrangement with a target of two billion dollars and set out a road map for enhanced cooperation in trade and industry, space, tourism, civil aviation and other diversified areas. During talks visiting Thai Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai had with his Indian counterpart Yashwant Sinha here, it was agreed that the joint negotiating committee working on a draft framework FTA would complete its task by July so that an agreement is reached by the end of this year. The two leaders, who led their delegations at the meeting of the joint commission, held after a gap of seven years, shared the views that there was a strong political will to push forward the bilateral relationship. Agreed minutes of the meeting were signed by the two sides for development of bilateral relations in several areas including biotechnology, science and technology and culture. Bureau Report
