Ahmedabad, Jan 16: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd's Gujarat telecom circle has appointed 51 postmen as Gramin Sanchar Sevaks (GSS) in 125 villages spread over seven districts in the state. "These postmen, who deliver posts in rural areas, will carry a WLL mobile with them to enable villagers to make calls under centre's GSS plan launched on December 24", BSNL chief general manager Pradeep Kumar told reporters here today.
"We have signed an MoU with the Department of Posts to have these GSSs. The department will be given 20 per cent comission from the total billing", he added.
The districts that will have these GSSs are Ahmedabad, Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Godhra, Jamnagar and Vadodara, Kumar said. Bureau Report
