Patna, Dec 03: Former MP Phaguni Ram and ex-minister Sanjeev Prasad Toni, who created a controversy recently by hobnobbing with top RJD leadership for Fatuha by-poll ticket, were removed from the posts of vice-president and general secretary respectively in the 141-member new executive committee of Bihar Congress which was announced today.
While, Ram, who was a party vice-president in the old
team under Shakeel Ahmad, did not figure in the list, Toni has
been made only an executive member in the new team announced
by BPC president Ramjatan Sinha at the party headquarters
here.
The new Bihar Congress executive committee has six vice-presidents, 14 general secretaries, 38 secretaries besides 45 executive members and 38 special invitees.
Sinha told reporters that the new executive was a balanced team in which people of all castes, religion and women were adequately represented.
While H K Verma was appointed chief spokesman of the party, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Azmi Bari and Shambhu Nath Sinha have been made spokesmen.
The BPCC president said that the new team was appointed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi after consultation with him, in-charge of party affairs in Bihar R K Dhavan and others.
Reacting on the results of by-polls to three assembly seats in Bihar in which its senior coalition partner RJD won two seats but lost by a huge margin at Sitamarhi, Sinha said had RJD and Congress fought the election together, it would have been a clean sweep.
