Kolhapur, Jan 06: Maharashtra rural development minister R R Patil said that funds to the tune of Rs 200 crore would be made available to Zilla Parishads (ZPs) in the state in a month for developmental schemes.
The minister was speaking at the concluding session of the Zilla Parishad members' training programme organised at Panhala here Saturday.
Patil said that rural developmental schemes through ''Shramdan'' (gift of labour), would be launched shortly.
Under the Mahatma Phule 'Bhumi Sudharna' programme, work for Rs 350 crore and under the village cleanness programme, work for around Rs 500 crore has been completed in the state, he said.
Also, the state has the launched 'Swajaldhara' programme with central government support.



The government will encourage women's active participation in local bodies, he said. About 9,700 women officials and Sarpanch in various villages will hoist the national flag on this Republic day.
