Importing, stocking, sale and exploding of fire crackers in jurisdiction of Jammu district has been banned forthwith for a period of two months, the District Magistrate, Jammu,
Pawan Kotwal said while imposing the ban.
The District Magistrate, has said that in view of reports from the security agencies and prevalent security scenario in the district, exploding of sound-producing crackers has led to confusion in the minds of the security forces and it has become difficult for them to distinguish between the sound of the explosion of fire crackers and bang of a unfire/bomb blasts. In order to avert such untoward incidents, it is necessary to ban the bursting of sound producing firecrackers in the district, he said.
