Criminals loot Rs 3 lakh from Bihar forest officials
Purnia, June 12: Armed miscreants today attacked and injured two forest officials before decamping with Rs three lakh cash, which the officials had withdrawn from a bank for payment of salary to the staff, near Girja Chowk, close to the town police station here.

Police sources said two motorcycle-borne criminals attacked the range officer Mahendra Ram and his assistant Umashankar while they were returning to the office after withdrawing the amount from the main branch of Bank of India.
When the officials resisted, the criminals opened fire, injuring both of them and then decamped with the money, the police said.
They were admitted to Sadar Hospital here. Hospital sources said that the officials were out of danger.
