New Delhi, June 09: IT major IBM on Monday unveiled its 'Think' series of desktops and monitors in the country, extending its offerings under the brand.

The company has launched three models of ThinkCentre desktop -- S50, M50 and A50p, priced under Rs 50,000 with processor in the range of 2Ghz-3Ghz, Alok Ohrie, vice-president, Personal Computing Division, IBM India, said. For each individual model, the company is still working out the costs. The exact price of each of the models will be known when the product hits the market in the next 10 days.

IBM is targetting all segments -- large enterprises, small and medium companies, small and home offices, education and government.


"All IBM NetVista desktops would now be available as ThinkCentre desktops. With this launch, IBM's Think family of offerings now include notebooks (ThinkPad), desktops (ThinkCentre) and monitors (ThinkVision)," Neeraj Sharma, GM, marketing and sales, PCB, IBM India said.

While S50 could also be operated on Linux operating systems (OS) apart from Windows XP OS, the other two models are on Windows OS only at present, he said, adding A50p is the multi -media PC.


The Think series desktops claims a 256-bit encrypted security chip embedded into the system for preventing unauthorised entry and with ThinkVantage technologies which ensure quick recovery from a crash. Bureau Report
