Togadia allowed to proceed to Ayodhya
Lucknow, Oct 18: VHP general secretary Pravin Togaida, detained by the district police this morning at Amausi airport here, was later allowed to proceed to Ayodhya to take part in the outfit`s programme there.

VHP organisation secretary Ambrish Kumar told news agencies that Togadia, accompanied by the outfit's central secretary Vinayak Rai Deshpande and state president V N Shukla, left for Ayodhya.
Senior district officials allowed Togadia to leave for Ayodhya after holing talks with him, Kumar said.
Earlier in the day, the fire brand VHP leader was picked up from the airport soon after his arrival from New Delhi here and detained at the Utratia Guest House of the irrigation department.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Lucknow, Rajiv Ranjan Verma said Togadia was detained apprehending breach of peace .
He is scheduled to take part in the 'Sankalp' meeting of the VHP in Ayodhya later in the day.
Lucknow District Magistrate Navneet Sehgal said Togadia was allowed to leave for Ayodhya after consultation with the Faizabad district administration.
"He was earlier detained on the request of the Faizabad district administration in order to ensure peace in the temple town," Sehgal told news agencies.
As per information, VHP international president Ashok Singhal has assured the district authorities in Faizabad that peace and order would be maintained during their programme in Ayodhya today, he added.
