Bangalore, Sept 17: As many as 330 players from 17 states will take part in the Union Bank All India Junior Ranking Badminton tournament which will begin here tomorrow. T Dinesh, who was instrumental in Andhra Pradesh winning senior and junior south zone inter-state championships held in Pondicherry recently, is seeded number one in junior boys singles.

Teen sensation Saina Nehwal, who has impressive wins over B R Meenakshi and Trupti Murgunde in previous matches, has been given top billing in both sub-junior girls and junior girls singles event. National Junior Champion Rohan Castelino, national sub-junior champion Anand Pawar, junior internationals Dhanya Nair, Aparna Balan and T Sowmya are among the other prominent players taking part in the tournament.

Events would be held in under-10, under-13, under-16 and under-19 boys and girls singles and doubles category, an exception being that there won't be under-10 event in girls doubles. The tournament carries total prize money of Rs one lakh, tournament coordinator Prakash Padukone and K R Vijayendra of Union Bank of India told reporters.

Qualifying draw would be played tomorrow and the main draw from the day after, Padukone said. The finals would be played on September 21, he said.

The event would be one of the selection tournaments for picking the Indian junior team that would participate in the European circuit to be held during November-December.
