EC serves show cause notice to Amarinder
New Delhi, Nov 26: The Election Commission today served a show cause notice on Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for alleged use of state aircraft for electioneering in Madhya Pradesh, Election Commission sources said.
New Delhi, Nov 26: The Election Commission today served a show cause notice on Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for alleged use of state aircraft for electioneering in Madhya Pradesh, Election Commission sources said.
The Commission has given a week's time to the Chief Minister to reply to the notice, which has also been served on Congress Party, they said.
The sources said it had received a complaint that Singh had used his government's aircraft for the election campaign in Madhya Pradesh for three days from November 15. Earlier the commission had served show cause notice on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi for using state aircraft during electioneering which it said is tantamount to violation of election code of conduct.
