Patiala, Nov 30: Balwinder Kaur, wife of Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehendi's elder brother Shamsher Mehndi, filed another application in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate P S Dhanoa, demanding action against five former police officials of the Patiala police for misrepresenting facts and misinforming the court. She said the officers include Patiala police chief Param Raj Singh Uanangal, SP Bhupinderjit Singh Virk, DSP Rajinder Pal Anand, and two inspectors Didar Singh and Shamsher Singh Guddu.
In her application filed through her counsel, she alleged that ever since the registration of a case against her husband by a complainant Bakshish Singh, accusing Mehndi brothers of being involved in human trafficking, the five police officials were misguiding and misinforming the court and misrepresenting the facts regarding the investigations.
Balwinder Kaur demanded action against the police officials under Sections 211, 219 and 469 of the IPC. The court admitted the application and fixed January 16 next year for the next hearing. Balwinder Kaur has already filed application in this court regarding challenging her proclamation.
The court, on November 17, had issued proclamation against the singer and his wife besides eight others, paving the way for their being declared proclaimed offenders in the case registered on October four.
