New Delhi, June 12: As part of efforts to modernise its fleet of vehicles, Delhi Police today inducted 20 state of art multi-purpose Toyota Qualis vehicles to its police control room (PCR) fleet. The new vehicles were flagged off by Delhi Lt Governor Vijai Kapoor at a function here. The vehicles would add to the fleet of gypsies which the police already has and will be deployed mostly in New Delhi area and pockets of south-west, police said. The modified vehicle, which include a foldable stretcher, a bracket for fire extinguisher and oxygen cylinder, has more space for transporting an injured person to hospital, they said. The vehicles are also equipped with arms, cane shield, first-aid box, helmets, lathis, barricade, blanket, dead body bag, PA system and siren, headphone and a towing chain, they said. Bureau Report
