Oct 14: Tiger Woods has decided not to add any events to his schedule as the US PGA Tour season enters its final month.
Woods needs to hold off Fiji's Vijay Singh to grab the fifth consecutive money crown.
But the world number one said on Sunday he will not try to match Singh's closing run of playing in three of the final four tournaments of the season. Woods will play in only two of the four, leaving him with a total of 18 US PGA Tour events for the year compared to Singh's 27.
Woods leads his rival by USD 171,239, having won USD 6,278,746 in 16 events.
Singh has committed to play in next week's Walt Disney World Classic and in two weeks near Tampa before next month's Tour Championship, a showdown of the 30 top money winners in Houston.
But Woods will play only at Disney, where he is a two-time champion, and at the Tour Championship.
"That's fine if he wants to do it that way," said Woods. "I just go ahead and try to play well and win events, so it should take care of itself." Woods decided to miss the Palm Harbor event, where Singh will play, starting October 23.
