New Delhi: A rare piece of art, self-portrait by Amrita Sher-Gil has amassed all records and has been sold for $2.92 million in Sotheby’s New York auction, reports suggest. The Indian woman artist, Amrita has set a new record with this milestone.

Amrita who was born in Budapest, has an Indian Sikh father and Hungarian mother. Reports further suggest that she painted the self-portrait in 1932 at the age of 19.
