Kolkata, July 18: Cricketing legend Kapil Dev took exception to skipper Sourav Ganguly's act of stripping off his shirt after the incredible victory against England in the NatWest series final, saying captains should learn to keep their emotions under control. "A captain getting carried away is quite normal, but then he should also know how to show his emotions," Kapil told a press conference here.
"I was taken aback when he took off his shirt, though I know it was an emotional outburst," he said.
Kapil, who led India to the World Cup title at the same venue in 1983, said his reaction had nothing to do with the 'sanctity' of Lord's. "Had such an act been done by a youngster, I wouldn't have minded. But Ganguly is after all the skipper".
Kapil, however, hastened to add that cricket had changed a lot since his playing days. "May be, twenty years from now nobody would bother about such things". Bureau Report
