Mumbai, May 01: Some parts of India would be able to witness the annualar solar eclipse occurring on May 31. The eclipse would begin at around 7:16 am and end at 12 noon, according to sources at the Nehru Science Centre here.

The beginning and the end of the partial phases of the eclipse would be visible from some parts of northern and western India, including Ahmedabad, Agra, Alwar, Amritsar, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dwarka, Ganganagar, Haradwar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Rajkot, Simla, Srinagar, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Patiala.

Outside India, the eclipse would be visible from north eastern parts of Africa, Europe except Iberia (including British Isles), northern Asia, nothern Greenland, northern Canada and Alaska.

There would also be a total eclipse of the moon on May 16. However, the celestial event would not be visible in India, the sources added.
