New Delhi, Oct 25: An ordinance to amend the Prevention of Terrorism Act (Pota) to confer statutory powers on Pota Review Committees is expected to be promulgated in a day or day, official sources said here today.
This follows the arrival of President A P J Abdul Kalam from a week-long three-nation tour.

The Union Cabinet on October 21 had approved an ordinance giving statutory powers to the(Pota) review committees and decided to introduce a bill to replace the ordinance in the winter session of Parliament. While a three-member central review committee is headed by Justice Arun Saharya, states could also set up such committees to deal with complaints lodged by those charged with (Pota).
