Shimla, Nov 09: BJP's organisational elections in Himachal Pradesh have been deferred till the assembly polls in five states. State returning officer of the party Randhir Sharma said elections for the state president and members of the national council were being postponed as senior party leaders including former union minister Shanta Kumar, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and other party leaders would be going to these states for campaigning.
The elections of the state BJP chief were scheduled to be held by September 30 last but the party could not adhere to the declared schedule due to delay in elections in Kangra district and lack of unanimity on the choice of president.
