New Delhi, Dec 12: As part of efforts to beautify the national capital, Delhi Development Authority would develop 55 more parks in the next 18 months, union urban development minister Ananth Kumar said here today. In the last 15 months since he assumed charge of the ministry, 64 parks have been developed in Delhi and in the next 18 months, 55 more parks would be developed and named after eminent personalities, Kumar said after inaugurating Guru Tegh Bahadur Park constructed by DDA in the Saraswati garden area of West Delhi, an official release said.
Stressing on the need for all-round participation by the people to implement developmental programmes, Kumar said his ministry would not take any action that would adversely affect the common man in Delhi.
Former city chief minister and state BJP president Madan Lal Khurana and Subhash Sharma, vice-chairman of DDA, were present on the occasion. Bureau Report
