National Karting Championship flags off in Ahmedabad

The championship sponsored by Corsa-Sail, Tourism Malaysia and Bharat Petroleum would travel through seven cities before the national final in February, organisers said here.
Addressing newspersons Sanjay Sharma, head of motor sports at J K Tyres said, "adding a new dimension to our already highly successful racing programme, all the track managers over the seven cities will be presented a Formula Maruti each, allowing them to rear racing talents in their backyards".
Sharma said the popularity of this sport reached its most frenzied level during the first ever national karting championship in 2000 and over the years has provided an opportunity to thousands of budding talents to compete with the best and create a niche for themselves.
