MCC triggers landmine in Purulia, five policemen hurt
Kolkata, Oct 11: Five policemen on patrol in a jeep were injured when suspected Maoist Communist Centre militants triggered a landmine blast at Madhuban on the west Bengal-jharkhand border in Purulia district this afternoon.

IGP (Law and Order) Chayan Mukherjee told newspersons here the injured were the officer in-charge of Bandwan police station, a sub-inspector and three constables.
The condition of two of the injured admitted to hospital was critical. "MCC militants, operating along the Jharkhand border, are suspected to be behind the blast," Mukherjee said.
Senior police officials were at the spot with reinforcements and a combing operation had been launched.
