New Delhi, Apr 29: Congress today dared the ruling BJP to hold early Lok Sabha elections saying it was not only ready, but "eager to face the polls as early as possible". Reacting to BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan's statement hinting at Lok Sabha polls either early next year or in May, party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy said that it would be better if they are advanced sometime in the current year itself as it would lead to "early emancipation from BJP's misrule."
Asserting that earlier the polls held the better it is, he told reporters that congress was confident of facing the polls any time and was "eager" to face them as early as possible.

He said that the logic of numbers of the 13th Lok Sabha was such that the bjp-led coalition was "surviving by default".

"We, therefore, think it is a historical necessity to accelerate the birth of the 14th Lok Sabha," he said.
