Gurgaon, July 14: Armed with court orders allowing
videography and photography during raids, Punjab Vigilance
Bureau sleuths today raided the resort owned by former chief
minister Parkash Singh Badal's son here for the second time in
as many days in connection with the alleged corruption case
against the sad chief and others.
The bureau, which had gone to conduct a search of the
premises yesterday, had not been allowed to take a video or
photos of the resort being set up in 17 acres of land.
Around 25 officials of the vigilance bureau accompanied
by engineers and revenue officials today raided the under
construction resort and besides taking measurements, recorded
the scene inside the premises on video and also took
photographs.
However, they were checked by the resort staff before
their entry.
The raids were conducted in connection with the alleged corruption case registered at Mohali recently against Badal and seven others, including his wife Surinder Kaur and son Sukhbir Singh, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP.
Later, Sukhbir told a news in Chandigarh over phone from Delhi that the raids were a "drama".
"It is an open house. Anyway it is a hotel which will be thrown open to the public in about two months' time", he added.
Denying allegations of corruption, he said the resort was being built by a public company fully financed by the banks. Anybody can see the source of funding, he added.
