irregularities in the World Bank-aided irrigation project
worth Rs 733 crore in Rajasthan, Deputy Chief Minister
Kamla today said it was an 'imaginary and misguided' approach
of the opposition party to malign her pro-farmer effort.
However, she agreed at a press conference here that the
irrigation expert, Gajraj Singh was her relative and was given
the assignment for one year in the five year project.
She said the project aimed to repair and maintain 91 canals with tributaries and 16 dams after five years and the WB authorities were making regular check and added that money transactions were done full involvement of the state Finance Department through UTI Bank.
To a question, Kamla said neither she nor her government would seek any legal action against the BJP convenor who levelled 'hypothetical' charges.
Convenor of BJP action committee, Pratap Singh Khachariawas had told a press conference that Kamla had appointed her son-in-law as an officer on special duty in the WB-aided project and committed financial frauds.
Singh also blamed that money transactions were being conducted without involving the state Finance Department.
