Chennai July 09: After high drama enacted by the VHP over launching a people’s movement on Ayodhya, senior leaders of the RSS and BJP are meeting to discuss the contentious issue.
BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu, accompanied by party general secretaries Pramod Mahajan and Sanjai Joshi, met RSS leaders Madandas Devi and Mohan Baghat at the Tamil Nadu RSS headquarters.
About the two-day meeting between the RSS and BJP leaders, which began here today, RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said there was no political significance to the meeting. "We are just discussing the organisational things".
But RSS leaders were believed to have conveyed to the BJP leaders the outcome of the deliberations of its two-day national executive, held in Kanyakumari on July 5 and 6.
On the Ayodhya tangle, Madhav told reporters here that it was unfortunate that the Kanchi Seer‘s proposals had failed.
Madhav admitted that he had called on the Sankaracharya yesterday.
