Gerber/Novartis will investigate its products sold in the Philippines after Greenpeace revealed scientific evidence showing that the company`s baby food products contained massive amounts of GE Soya; despite its promise a year ago to stop using GE ingredients worldwide. The company`s decision follows a Greenpeace action earlier today in front of the Novartis headquarters in Switzerland where activists blocked the main entrance of the building with hundreds of baby-puppets. The puppets were holding protest signs saying : "Novartis/Gerber, keep your promise!" and "Novartis/Gerber, stop genetically modified Baby food!". Earlier, Greenpeace sent three products to the internationally certified Hong Kong laboratory, DNA Chips, where very high levels of GE contamination was found. In the products Green Monggo`s - 66.7 percent, Cream of Brown Rice - 52.2 percent and Mixed Fruit - 34.3 percent of the Soya was found genetically engineered. Bureau Report
