Pages of history are being turned at the imposing ruins of the Tughlaqabad Fort in New Delhi where the first of excavations have led to the unearthing of copper coins, pottery, earthen vases and other relics belonging to early 14th century. Though nothing unusual or startling has come to light so far in the excavations, being carried out by Archaeological Survey of India, the "horizontal excavations" are unraveling the settlement pattern and the nature of construction of this third city of Delhi.
