The world community must understand that for India, the battle against terrorism has entered a "decisive phase" after the December 13 attack on Parliament, Home Minister L K Advani said on Monday. "The battle against terrorism has entered a decisive phase for us, especially after the attack on Parliament. This must be understood by the world community and especially by the democratic nations," Advani told reporters just before departing for a six-day official visit to the United States.
Welcoming the SAARC`s unanimous resolve to jointly fight terrorism, Advani pointed out that there has been "no change in the attitude of our neighbour (Pakistan)."
"In this backdrop, there are those who advise us to maintain calm as (attitudinal) changes are taking place (in Pakistan). But so far there are no signs of it," Advani said.

Describing democracy as "the main enemy of terrorism", he said the global war against the menace was not against any religion or a "clash of civilisations". The fight is between the civilised society which progresses freely, openly and in a democratic manner and those which were authoritarian, he said. Bureau Report
