India and China would hold the next round of consultations on maintenance of peace and tranquility on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in New Delhi on Thursday amid signals that both sides are keen to quicken the pace of negotiations to resolve the long-standing boundary dispute. The two sides would, among other things, discuss respective maps of the 600 km 'middle sector' boundary along Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Specialists from the Chinese foreign office and defence ministry would confer with their Indian counterparts on a range of related issues at the 9th meeting of the India-China expert group of diplomatic and military officials.
The two sides would continue the process of clarifying the LAC that began at the previous meeting in Beijing in November last year. Bureau Report
