New Delhi, Sept 10: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is returning home this evening cutting short his visit to India following the twin bombings in Jerusalem killing 14 people. India and Israeli yesterday signed six agreements.
Ariel Sharon and Atal Bihari Vajpayee agreed on terrorism, but differed on Yasser Arafat during their one-on-one meeting on Tuesday.
In the course of the first full day of the Israeli Prime Minister's visit, India and Israel agreed to a global and comprehensive response to combat terrorism. They also decided to formalise a strategic partnership to fight the scourge of terrorism.
Israel also assured India it was committed to a long-term defence relationship with India to meet its security concerns.
Sharon and Vajpayee discussed common linkages of the terrorist groups that posed a threat to what the Israeli Prime Minister called the two "embattled democracies". Bureau Report
