Islamabad, May 19: Pakistan tonight hoped that India's prime minister-designate Manmohan Singh would pursue the peace process initiated by the Vajpayee government and take it forward to normalise bilateral ties. "We hope under his leadership the relations will further improve and the peace process will continue", Pakistan's information minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad told here while reacting to the appointment of Singh as the prime minister.
"This is the desire of our people and we hope under Singh's leadership, the peace process continues", he said.
President Pervez Musharraf planned to have a detailed review of the Indo-Pak peace process in a day or two.
A review report of the future peace process under the Congress led government has been reportedly prepared by Pakistan foreign secretary Riaz Khokhar and is expected to be presented to the President and Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali once Singh's government took shape.
