CB-CID team in Pratapgarh to probe `atrocities` on Raja Bhaiya
Pratapgarh (UP), Sept 20: The CB-CID team probing alleged irregularities and atrocities committed on the family members of the Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya during the tenure of then district magistrate Mohammad Mustafa arrived here last night, official sources said here today.

The six-member team led by additional superintendent of police Dalbir Singh Yadav met District Magistrate R S Verma to collect relevant documents, they said.
The team would probe acts of alleged atrocities on Raja Bhaiya's family members, confiscation of his ancestral property and acquisition of the Benti Lake owned by the legislator, the sources added.
Immediately after taking over the reins of power, new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had ordered the withdrawal of charges under Pota levelled against the legislator, his father Udai Pratap Singh and an associate Akhilesh Pratap Singh, who are accused in many criminal cases.
The Supreme Court had yesterday issued notice to Uttar Pradesh government on a petition challenging steps taken by the state to withdraw Pota charges against the three.
