Vadodara, Oct 23: Indian Air Force (IAF) will display precision formation aerobatic, including the famous Surya Kiran formation, at an airshow to be held here from today.
"Surya Kiran is one amongst the only three renowned nine-aircraft aerobatic teams in the world. The other two teams are Red Arrows' of the Royal Air Force and Canadian show birds," Air Commodore and Area Commanding Officer D N Ganesh told reporters here last week.
The modern frontline fighter aircraft including the MIG-21, MIG-23 and MIG-29 will majestically roar in formation fly-past, he said adding an Avro medium-lift transport aircraft in 'Vic' formation and a single Chetak helicopter fly-past will add grace to the air show.
The air show will be followed by a static display of the IAF's weapon systems.
The show precedes an open recruitment rally for selection in both technical and non-technical trades for airmen, to be held at air force station, Makarpura, Vadodara from October 31 to November three, next, he said.



About one lakh leaflets on this airshow to be followed by recruitment rally in the city from October 31st to November three, will be air dropped for attracting more youths from Gujarat to join Air Force, Vadodara District Collector Bhagyesh Jha said.
