On Board Special IAF Plane, June 21: India today said it has not taken any decision so far on releasing British national Peter Bleach, main accused in the Purulia arms drop case, as requested by the United Kingdom. Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani said the issue was raised by British leaders during his recent visit to United Kingdom. "Seven to eight years have passed since that incident. They (British) have a problem with their constituency. I said I will see if I can but we have not taken a decision yet," Advani told reporters in an informal chat en route to Ahmedabad.
Advani said Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had sent a letter to his British counterpart explaining there was a difficulty in releasing bleach as the prosecution feels "the whole case will be finished" if it was done. Bureau Report
