New Delhi, Oct 07: Rattled by CBI's action in chargesheeting Chattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, Congress today side-stepped questions whether he would be asked to resign but questioned the timing of agency's action. "We have just learnt about it through media and not in a position to give any immediate response," party spokesman Anand Sharma told reporters when asked whether Jogi would be asked to quit.
He said the party was trying to get a copy of the chargesheet and after studying it will take an "appropriate" decision.
Sharma said the development was "surprising" and indicated that the timing of CBI action was politically motivated as it came a day after the announcement of poll dates.

"This certainly raised certain questions," he said.
CBI today chargesheeted Jogi in a Delhi court for allegedly forging documents to claim that the intelligence bureau has launched an operation to tarnish his image. Bureau Report
