Jammu, Sept 22: Three persons, including two ultras, were killed and another civilian injured during an encounter between security forces and militants in a village of Surankote Tehsil in Poonch district of Jammu division, police sources said here today. The encounter took place in Mehrote village of Surankote Tehsil around midnight last night in which two ultras died after a prolonged gunbattle, the sources said. Two AK rifles were recovered from the slain militants whose identity is yet to be ascertained, they added. In the cross firing, one civilian Manzoor Hussain was killed and another Mohammad Akram was injured, they said adding the injured has been rushed to the hospital.
Reports from Rajouri district said shops and business establishments remained closed in main town in protest against yesterday's bomb blast in a shoe shop in which three persons, including an intelligence official, were killed and 29 others injured.

However, vehicular traffic was plying in the town, the report said adding police and Para military troops were deployed in the town to maintain law and order.
