Amravati, July 01: Mukherjee Commission member Tarkeshwar Pal, appointed by the Centre to probe the mystery behind the death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, recorded the statement of former principal of Vidarbha Mahavidyalaya, Amravati Suresh Pandhye and collected documents and photographs from him yesterday. Pal said 102 people had made claims about having information about the death of Netaji and the commission had received 158 documents in this regard. The commission would finish the probe by November this year, he added. However, Pal refused to divulge details or comment on Pandhye's claim, documents and photographs. He later left for Calcutta.
Meanwhile, Pandhye told reporters that Netaji did not die in the plane crash, but died on January 2, 1977, in a house located in Dehradun in Uttaranchal. Pandhye said he handed over the documents and photographs in support of his claim to the commission members.
