India on Monday ruled out any role in the Norwegian brokered peace talks between LTTE and Colombo proposed to be held in Thailand soon, but expressed its full support for the ongoing peace process. “There is a proposal of holding talks in Thailand and we support it but New Delhi will not participate in any form in these parleys,” minister of state for external affairs Omar Abdullah told reporters.
The minister said that India's role would be confined to extending support to these proposed parleys from outside as a neighbour.
Stating that India was committed to support any peace process in Sri Lanka, he said, “We want that peace should return to the island nation but its territorial integrity and sovergnity should remain paramount.” Bureau Report
