New Delhi, Apr 11: After detecting leakage in CBSE's pre-medical examination by arresting two medical students last night, Delhi Police today suspected the duo to be part of a cross-country network whose kingpins were MBBS student Ranjeet Verma and his brother Satinder. The crime branch was also looking for a man, whose identity was not disclosed, as it launched a countrywide hunt to unearth all linkages of the network and unravel the modus operandi of the racket operating for the last five years.

Police expect to extract sensational disclosures during interrogation of Rakesh Verma and Vikas Verma who were today sent to 14-day police remand after being arrested last night when they were selling physics and chemistry papers. "So far, we have identified five persons, including the two arrested. But there will surely be more involved in the racket," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) B K Gupta told a press conference here.

Ranjeet, a fourth year student of Nagpur Medical College, and his unemployed brother are the kingpins, he said, adding they own a palatial house in Pandav Nagar area in East Delhi.

He did not rule out linkage of the gang with Ranjit Don, mastermind of leakage of Common Admission Test (CAT) paper for management colleges in November last year, but said this aspect was subject of investigation. Bureau Report
