Guwahati, Nov 25: Reacting sharply to visiting RJD supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav's accusation against the BJP for the ongoing violence in Assam, the state party unit today described Yadav "as a joker who has no understanding of the ground realities of Assam" and demanded an apology from him for the insult to train passengers from the north-east. Reacting to Laloo's accusation here yesterday that the BJP was responsible for the ongoing violence in the state, state party spokesman Ashok Singhal told reporters that ''the Bihar MP should have first apologised to the people of Assam for the insult meted out to the train passengers from here for long 10 hours in Bihar's Kathihar railway station.''
"Where was the RJD government's police when a girl passenger from the north east was paraded naked on the railway station and then raped publicly at Kathihar railway station", he asked.
"Before joining hands with the congress and praising each other, Laloo should have ordered strict punishment of the culprits before visiting the state and loudly shouting Assamese-Bihari bhai-bhai", Singhal asserted.
The BJP spokesman alleged that "Laloo himself as chief minister of Bihar had failed totally and then installed his wife in his chair. He has no right to accuse the BJP-led NDA government or any BJP MP of Bihar of fanning communal passion in Assam".
