New Delhi, June 22: Union Communications and IT Minister Arun Shourie will inaugurate an India IT Exhibition to be held in Tokyo from June 24-27, 2003, to mark the 100th anniversary of Indo-Japan association.
The event, to be organised by CII in cooperation with Japan's main trade policy implementing body, the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), would play a vital role in strengthening Indo-Japan global partnership as visualised by former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, CII said.
It would be a focussed platform for all stakeholders in the domestic IT industry to showcase their products and services and gauge business opportunities in Japan, it said.
After the visit of former Prime Minister Mori in 2000 to India, IT was identified as a thrust area for closer cooperation.
The announcement for more multi-entry visas, valid for up to three years to Indian IT professionals, training for 1000 technicians in Japanese language and promised government support to Indian and Japanese IT professionals augured well for a dynamic Indo-Japan IT partnership.
