Pune, Aug 12: Defence Minister George Fernandes has said that he would try to resolve the problems of people residing in vicinity of Dighi magazine depot, near here. Talking to media yesterday in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Fernandes said that he would convene a meeting in Delhi this month to find a solution regarding the red zone, near Dighi magazine depot and other problems. The authorities have brought out a circular ordering people staying in the vicinity of the boundary wall of the depot--the red zone--to shift to other place.
Hundreds of families face the prospect of being shifted due to restrictions being sought by Dighi magazine depot authorities on grounds of security concerns.
