Nasik, Aug 28: Nasik unit of BJP today criticised the city administration for not acting speedily in providing assistance to the relatives of the victims killed in the stampede during the holy bath at the ongoing Kumbh festival yesterday. Gopal Patil, vice president of BJP Nasik unit told in a civil hospital here that the collector did not reach the hospital on time to provide financial assistance to the relatives of the victims, delaying the relief process.
He also said that the administration should increase the amount of financial assistance while handing over the bodies of the victims to Rs 20,000 as mere Rs 5,000 was not enough.
BJP has already started providing help to the relatives in hospital by providing clothes, food and by assisting them in identifying bodies, Patil added. Bureau Report
