Mumbai, June 13: Gaining fresh lease of life by winning the crucial confidence motion, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said his government would take up the developmental work in the state with renewed vigour.
"The victory of the ruling coalition in the trust motion clearly indicated that the DF is intact and the opposition designs to create split and division by trampling the cherished demcocratic values have been foiled", he said.
"Even people of Maharashtra will not forgive them and the opposition saffron combine will never again resort to such tactics," he told reporters.
Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said "un ki (Shiv Sena-Bjp) chutti kar diya" (we have taught them a lesson). He said "this victory is victory of democratic forces over goondaism".
To a question whether opposition leader Narayan Rane and Gopinath Munde will be arrested for alleged "misuse of muscle power and illegally confining elected members", Bhujbal said "the police will take appropriate action as per law."
"There will no vindictiveness from our side" both Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minsiter assured that all the grievances raised by the disgruntled and angry DF MLAs could be addressed soon.
