Bangkok, Aug 15: Hambali, the alleged chief representative of al-Qaeda and its bombing mastermind, has been flown to Indonesia after being arrested this week in Thailand, a military source said.
Hambali, an Indonesian cleric wanted in several Southeast Asian countries, was arrested along with his wife in the central city of Ayutthaya on Monday by Thai police, the FBI and military agents, said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Hambali was flown to Indonesia by a special plane to face trial, said the source. He said Thailand expects to get US$4 million reward for Hambali's capture.

In Indonesia, Maj. Gen. I Made Pastika, who led the investigation into last year's nightclub bombings on the resort island of Bali, said Hambali was in US custody.
``The Indonesian police is currently preparing a request so that Hambali will be extradited to Bali,'' Pastika said. ``He is in US custody.''

Hambali, who is also known as Riduan Isamuddin, is suspected of being involved in several recent attacks, including the Aug 5 bombing of the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia, that killed 12 people and injured 150.

He is suspected of playing an organizing role in the Oct. 12, 2002, Bali bombings that killed about 200 people, many of the Australians.
