Phagwara, Dec 07: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann today released party's manifesto and names of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls which, he said, would take place by April next year. Addressing a rally here, Mann said he would re-contest from Sangrur while Harjinder Jakhu, Bhag Singh and Fauji Satpal Singh would be party's nominees for Phillaur (reserved), Ropar and Bathinda constituencies from Punjab.
Releasing the party's mini-poll manifesto, Mann promised opening of borders with Pakistan to promote trade and tourism, free education to all till graduation and shelter, food and clothes to the masses.
The manifesto also promised free cycles to Dalit girl students, introduction of Punjabi and English from the first standard, round-the-clock power supply to industrial and farm sectors and jobs to youths.
"This mini-manifesto will be implemented at all cost," Mann said and asked Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) to throw away corrupt leaders and enter into an alliance with his party to defeat Congress. Bureau Report
