New Delhi, Oct 05: Union Commerce Minister Arun Jaitley said on Saturday it was time India prepared itself to make some concessions to achieve larger gains at the World Trade Organisation, which he said was nothing but a market. "We should be prepared to give two things to get 10 things in return... We have to bring that kind of maturity which should also reflect in our stand at the WTO," he said at a function organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad here.
WTO, after all, was neither a church nor a temple, but a market, he said.
"We have to learn the rules of the game and play accordingly to protect and promote our interests to bring gains to the country".
He said India was poised to emerge as major healthcare destination in the world as also a superpower in supplying cheap drugs to countries which did not have manufacturing capability.
"It's time we be prepared to take the leap forward... We have to learn to be competitive and take on not just in services but also goods," Jaitley said.
