Jammu, Jan 17: A Rs 60 crore annual plan for Kargil district for the next financial year has been approved by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council. The first general session of LAHDC, Kargil, in a meeting chaired by chief executive councillor Qamar Ali Akh yesterday, approved the plan, which gets a sanction of Rs five crore more than the plan for the current fiscal.
Agriculture, irrigation, health and road sectors have been given priority and substantial funds have been earmarked for these key sectors. Of the total approved plan, over Rs 16.86 crore would be the revenue component while the remaining Rs 43.14 crore capital component which includes Rs 1.10 crore as Nabard loan.
Over Rs 28.18 crore have been earmarked for completion of spill-over works and Rs 7.10 crore for new works in the district, an official release said.
District development commissioner, Kargil, M A Khan, who is also the CEO of the council, mentioned the achievements made in different sectors in the district during the current fiscal, it said. Bureau Report
